Clever Architecture offers one of the most comprehensive ranges of services of any small firm in Minnesota. We believe that offering a full range of services helps inform other services in unique and helpful ways for our clients.
Clever Architecture's informal but targeted process helps build trust and mutual cooperation between individuals and project teams. The key to any successful project starts with the information. This is why we believe a solid project brief, a clear work plan, and a program report are a critical step prior to starting design.
This is the project statement. We spend a little time getting to know you and your project. We do some research and issue a Project Brief Report. This is a fast and efficient way to discover viability and preliminary project direction.
Our work plan approach is the basis for the implementation of every successful project. This is where we define in detail the scope, schedule, budget and roles. The work plan must be achievable, meet the client's requirements and have the entire project team’s agreement. A typical work plan includes:
This is the document that tells our designers and your project team how to proceed. We gather information via several methodologies, delve into research details, and analyze the information. Our research methodologies customized to your specific needs could include: Needs Assessment
Interviews And Observations, Visual Listening, Forensic Investigation, Strategic Planning, Visioning
Business Operations Plan, Environmental Analysis, Team Building & Information Gathering Activities and Financial And Statistical Analysis. After gathering the information and analyzing the data, we issue a Program Report that defines the project direction for the entire team.
Design is where the project vision, objectives and needs meet imagination. Our inspiration grows from our client's perspective creating a unique solution and style. We use a collaborative approach with professional in studio peer to peer review to test our designs throughout the design phase against the project’s original objectives as outlined in the program report. We use 3D computer modeling, computer technology, hand drawing, and physical models to explore project possibilities. This process builds core design strength, beauty, individuality and viability.
Clarity in communicating how the project will be constructed or implemented is essential. We use a variety of today's advanced technology tools and resources to make sure that the instructions or construction documents are as clear as possible.
BIDDING | PRICING
As a cost control measure, we like to start pricing very early in the project using real world estimates. The project team usually selects one of the following three methods: Design Build,
Project Manager Bidding Sub Contracts, or Conventional General Contractor Bidding. Based on the method, we work with the contractor and project team to review bids, value engineer building systems and keep the entire team on track.
During the construction phase of a project we offer
Construction Observation, Alternative Evaluations
Document Management, Shop Drawing Review, and Schedule Assistance.
Regular post construction follow up is a big part of keeping a building or any project sustainable for the long term.
